Rocketeer Drivers are where Arc Raiders stops feeling like a simple loot run and starts testing your judgment. You may enter a deployment looking for ordinary salvage, then spot a Husk, hear an airborne ARC unit nearby, and realize that one decision could determine your next major workbench upgrade. The material is tied to the Explosives Station, advanced crafting, and the kind of risk management that separates a productive run from a wasted loadout. If your wider progression feels unclear, checking your ARC Raiders BluePrints can help you identify which crafting goals deserve priority.

Why Three Drivers Change Your Mid-Game Plan

The immediate target is Explosives Station Level 3, which requires three Rocketeer Drivers, three Laboratory Reagents, and five Explosive Compounds. That recipe creates a meaningful progression wall because Drivers are not common backpack filler. They are valuable enough to shape your route, extraction timing, and willingness to engage dangerous ARC targets.

Once the station reaches Level 3, the Wolfpack recipe becomes available. The catch is that each Wolfpack also consumes a Driver, so unlocking the recipe does not end the resource hunt. It simply changes the question from "How do I get three?" to "When is this explosive worth spending?" Players who use one during every difficult encounter can quickly find themselves behind on future crafting.

Start With Husks, Not a Live Target

For most Raiders, Rocketeer Husks are the better opening strategy. They can contain intact Drivers and let you search for progress without committing to a loud fight in open terrain. The reward is less immediate than a successful kill, but the risk is easier to control, especially for solo players or anyone still refining a heavy-combat loadout.

Search several remains instead of relying on one lucky find.
Keep hard cover and an extraction route in mind while looting.
Use events that create more ARC remains to increase your opportunities.
Leave once a Driver is secured if the station upgrade is your main goal.

First Wave Husks, sometimes called Husk Graveyard by players, is useful because it can place more searchable remains in one deployment. It does not promise a Driver, but it improves the number of chances you get before extraction. That distinction matters: the event supports a farming route, not a guaranteed drop.

When a Rocketeer Fight Is Worth Taking

A live Rocketeer is the faster source when the conditions are right. Bring dependable damage, enough ammunition for nearby ARC units, and defensive supplies that will not leave you helpless afterward. Aim for exposed weak points around the thrusters, fire from solid cover, and avoid treating the encounter as a stationary DPS contest. Movement, line-of-sight breaks, and patience usually matter more than squeezing out a few extra shots.

Location changes the fight dramatically. Dam Battlegrounds can offer useful elevation near the Primary Facility and Testing Annex. Buried City rewards players who understand the alleys and buildings around the Parking Garage and Research Building, while Blue Gate requires more care around open ground near Pilgrim's Peak. These are tendencies rather than fixed spawn rules, so use sound and visual cues instead of following a route blindly.

Protect the Upgrade Before Chasing Extra Loot

Store every Driver until the Explosives Station reaches Level 3. Recycling one into basic ARC materials may help with a short-term crafting need, but it delays the upgrade and can force another dangerous deployment later. After the station is complete, spare Drivers become a more flexible resource: keep enough for a planned Wolfpack, then consider processing true surplus if your storage is crowded.

The strongest Arc Raiders progression route is not the loudest one. Search Husks when the map gives you extra remains, fight a live Rocketeer only with cover and a clean exit, and treat extraction as part of the objective rather than an afterthought. A Driver can unlock a station, support a high-impact explosive, or improve your wider crafting stockpile. Spend it according to your next milestone, and even cheap ARC Raiders Items become more useful when they support a deliberate loadout plan.
